Project Overview
Correspondance is a dual-concept restaurant at Tour & Taxis in Brussels — The Living Room for social dining, The Dining Room for refined cuisine. Their old WordPress site was a single page with opening hours and a reservation button. It said nothing about what makes the place special.
We migrated the site from WordPress to Astro and built a completely new design in 2 weeks. The goal was simple: when someone lands on the site, they should immediately understand there are two experiences under one roof.
The Challenge
- Basic single-page WordPress site with no visual identity
- No way to explain the dual-concept (The Living Room + The Dining Room)
- Slow loading from WordPress overhead and unoptimized images
- Poor mobile experience — most people look up restaurants on their phone
What We Built
Split-screen homepage — visitors choose between The Living Room and The Dining Room. Each side reveals itself on hover with curtain animations and immersive photography.
Mobile-first — on smaller screens, the layout stacks vertically with touch-friendly interactions. Reservation links and contact info are always one tap away.
Fast loading — 98/100 PageSpeed. Images converted to WebP, lazy loading for below-fold content, deployed on Cloudflare’s CDN.
Local SEO — Restaurant schema markup, Google My Business integration, and structured data so the site shows up properly in Brussels restaurant searches.
